I was once matched (on a different site) with my next door neighbor. I didn't know him but we shared a condo wall and I recognized his backyard pictures.

I can now say that I have. Last night I went out to a birthday party of a friend of the gal I'm dating. The birthday girls sister was there and I mentioned to my date after it was over that shee seemed vaguely familiar. It wasn't until tonight that I realized that I had been matched to my dates friends siter,,,, so weird.

I'm not talking about a planned face-to-face meeting or date but rather had a real life encounter with somebody who you closed (or closed you). It happened to me once, I had been exchanging messages with this girl who happened to live close to where I live. We chatted for a few weeks and then she disappeared without closing me, before I even had a chance to see if I she wanted to meet me.
Yep..
Well, sort of the same deal...
We had planned on meeting at some point, as she had jumped right to OC with me, just days before her subscription was to expire...
Said she was "really busy" and had to go away..lo and behold, I met her at a dry cleaners a few days later(she was local match) and she gave me her email address...she did go away for short vacation as it turns out.
So, while she was away we exchanged a few emails, one of which she said she "really wanted to get together when I get back."....but then, yeah...she came back and never came through ...one excuse after another....
Then, a couple of weeks later...I actually saw her again, in Pizza Hut one night, of all places, picking up a take out order..

I assume she had a boyfriend/partner rather than actually being really busy!

nah...I don't think so...
I think she had gotton so disallusioned with dating..she had told me in an email that she "was tired of EH and of online dating"..
I'm a firm believer that people should take a break and re-charge their batteries every now & then.
I think it was just bad timing.

Recently a friend introduced me to a guy friend of hers. I couldn't help but think how he looked very familiar, but I couldn't figure out why.

Then I realized that he was an EH match whom I had closed earlier. It happens. Probably not too often, but it happens.
Such a small world.

It certainly is. It matters most when you meet someone that you closed, and we both realize it, and start arguing about who closed whom FIRST. Good times. (Luckily, never happened, but it could.)
