How many times...

1. Have you been truly in love?

2. Have you hoped a relationship would work and didn't?

3. Have you had your heart broken?

4. Have you wished, after the fact, that you gave someone from your past a real and/or another chance?

5. Have you completely regretted knowing someone w/ whom you entered a relationship?

Once. Truly infatuated? Many.

2. Have you hoped a relationship would work and didn't?

Other than my marriage, only one that I can recall.

3. Have you had your heart broken?

My ex-husband broke my heart many times (by-product of being in a LTR... actually had someone tell me once that love and relationships bring disappointment and hurt, even if it's unintentional), I'm sure I broke his, as well. Had my heart broken (truly heartbroken) over a failed relationship outside of my marriage, twice.

4. Have you wished, after the fact, that you gave someone from your past a real and/or another chance?

Big fat 0.

5. Have you completely regretted knowing someone w/ whom you entered a relationship?

Never. I think that I have learned something about myself from all of my relationships.
I decided to answer my own post...

I used to think so. Now, I'm not so sure...

2. Have you hoped a relationship would work and didn't?
Oh, yeah.

3. Have you had your heart broken?
Ditto.

4. Have you wished, after the fact, that you gave someone from your past a real and/or another chance?
Yes, a real chance. More than one somone...

5. Have you completely regretted knowing someone w/ whom you entered a relationship?
Never. Even through all the heartache and pain, I think every involvement has a lesson to teach you. Even if it takes you years to figure out what that lesson is.

No.

Yes. But now I'm grateful it didn't, so it's all good.
3. Have you had your heart broken?
No. Battered and bruised a wee bit, though.
4. Have you wished, after the fact, that you gave someone from your past a real and/or another chance?
I've done pretty well on this front. I've probably given more chances than I needed to (and I will be giving less in the future), but I really can't say I have regrets about missed opportunities.
5. Have you completely regretted knowing someone w/ whom you entered a relationship?
Not completely regretted. One guy really did some damage to my self confidence - he was wily and subtle. Just a couple months left my head spinning. It wasn't good, but it was a lesson learned - a very important lesson that could have been much harder.

I used to think I was in love. Now that I am older I realize that I was only in lust. The attraction would have made it beyond the six month mark if it was love.

Some part of me hopes that they will all work, yet usually they are so unsuitable that it's a mystery to me that any part of me at all could consider it possible.

Like the first question; sometimes I think my heart is broken but I think that if it truely was broken it would take more than a week to heal.

I have a couple of times; the final result was the same as the initial result - just got there a whole lot quicker this time.

No, but I sure do regret a couple of the ones that I didn't get to regret.
