I don't even think about winning, I was of course just playing around with what everyone was talking about....especially in regards to having to 'win' in relationships....not a good way to be.

A woman always has the last word in any argument. Anything a man says after that is the beginning of the next argument.

Ok. You win. I've never understood guys who are into cars, cowboy boots, cufflinks, or sports collections but you are right, there are enough of them out there.
Haha! I didn't even know we were in a battle.

Both men and women tend to have their things that they like. They may be different or the same (whether jewelry or electronics or stuff for the truck), but it's still just stuff that makes them go "Hey cool! I want that!" It's kinda funny, really! (Of course some people are more into "stuff" than others, and that's true of both men and women....)

I appreciate your not taking a rather silly issue too seriously!

Unless he shows his feet in them, how can you be sure they're his?

Can we get back on track? I didn't think of jewelery in the same manner as the other stuff for guys, that turned this thread into a thread about trucks and pillows, and accessories.

Thanks to everyone who kept this about jewelery, and I think I know that I now feel comfortable enough buying myself my own jewelery, and it is not a strange thing for women to do.

Are there any additional aspects of the jewelry question on which you would like people to provide some input? Or, are you all set for now? Have you made your first purchase yet?

actually, it was all on track since at base your OP seemed to really be about how one should spend their discretionary money and is it OK to spend that money on oneself in whatever manner they desire.

it is. and i am glad you see that. enjoy your jewelry! and post pics.

It was not about how people spend their discretionary money, it was specifically about women and jewelery. I got my answer though, so I am not going to worry any longer that the thread was hijacked.
