If you could be either rich or famous (but not both), which would you choose?

If you choose famous, for what would you want to be famous?

Rich, definitely.

I can see no advantage to being famous. Well respected, yes. Famous, no. Famous only means loss of privacy, and judgment of those who have no business judging you.

Rich, definitely, absolutely, certainly, etc!

I can see no advantage to being famous, because there is no advantage to being famous, except that girls come up to you. Well respected, yes. Famous, no. Famous only means loss of privacy, and judgment of those who have no business judging you.

Plus, with riches I can buy more Beer!

I was going to say famous, but I think the other two posters changed my mind on that. My dream would be to be a well known, well respected children's book author. But I don't want all the headaches that come with being movie star famous, or like that.

So if I could be well respected, but not famous, and yet still have a lot of money, that would be the dream. But I think that's not the point of the question. So I'll take the money.

Because of my job, I have some local fame. While there are aspects that are nice, there are a lot of people that are ready, willing and able to be judgmental and rude. There are also plenty of people that will be more than happy to draw false conclusions about me.

So, yeah...give me rich.

So much for this question!

Maybe you should ask if we'd rather by good-looking (like a Frog!) or rich?

Rich...better than fame...and even better than being good-looking (like a Frog!)

But...

Rich, definitely.

I can see no advantage to being famous. Well respected, yes. Famous, no. Famous only means loss of privacy, and judgment of those who have no business judging you.

...am I the only one seeing similarities here?

I am a freak, I don't want either.

I want to be respected by those who know me and I want to have enough money that I don't have to worry about money. But, I don't really want love or respect from people who don't know me, and I don't want so much money that I would not feel I needed to use it wisely. I think either would take a lot of the fun out of life for me.
