Honestly, I prefer a girl who is physically fit. Personality and character are most important...but I want someone to keep up with me.

This has always been a controversial topic, as I'm sure that a lot of women feel (and probably do) get rejected by men strictly because of their weight issues.

I've always been very skinny. Not muscular, just very skinny. I run excessively in order to ensure that I stay in good shape, but bulking up takes an insane amount of time (and food) in order for me to maintain it. A lot of women are turned off by this, so I can somewhat relate. Although I try to use it to my advantage by making self-deprecating jokes about how I'm still waiting to hit puberty

Honestly, I think it just depends. I'm not a big guy, so dating someone who is three times my size would just feel extremely awkward and physically imposing. But at the same time, I know some women who are a little overweight, but carry it well. They also know how to dress well and still make an effort to keep themselves in the best condition that they're capable of. And you know what? They look pretty damn good.

Face it, there's nothing attractive about someone who has, as some people put it, "let themselves go."

Although, ironically, I also know women who will cut a man's throat because they won't accept overweight women, while the very same woman will insist that she wants a tall man who is at least 6 feet or over At 5'9", I may have to bust out some high heels for myself

Weight and BMI aren't necessarily good measures. Most people don't know their Body Fat %, which is a better measure. Given that...

Here's a chart I found for ideal weights by height and gender for someone with a medium size frame:

Women
5'9" 139-153
5'10" 142-156

Men
5'2" 131-141
5'3" 133-143
5'4" 135-145
5'5" 137-148
5'6" 139-151
5'7" 142-154
5'8" 145-157
5'9" 148-160
5'10" 151-163
5'11" 154-166
6'0" 157-170
6'1" 160-174
6'2" 164-178
6'3" 167-182
6'4" 171-187

Generally speaking, I find people with an average build at the listed weights to be too thin for my tastes. So I guess you could say I prefer women who are somewhat overweight, maybe in the 5-20 lb range. Above that, the more overweight, the greater the chance I will find them unattractive.

All that being said, as long as they are healthy and I find them attractive, weight isn't an issue.
I have to put my 2 cents in here. I am a big girl. Iam 5'10 and yes I weigh more than I should. If I were to weigh b/t 139-153 you would want to put me in the hospital for anorexia. No one person fits into those charts. I can't imagine seeing a 6'4 man weighing 180. And as far as healthly... I would venture to guess that I am much more healthy than a 23 yr old who is 109 and eats fast food everyday becouse they can. It's all realitive. I have loved skinny guys, heavy guys, short and tall. It's sad that you limit yourself when the person you could love like no other is the one that doesn't fit your attractive scale.
Yes everyone has their idea of what beauty is - myself included. But you shouldn't pigeon hole yourself to one type. Hell... try it all. Then you will really know what you are looking for. Also...you never know what the issue with weight is...you could be the one person that changes that heavy persons life...and she/he could become your dream mate-the one you have been paying out big$$ here searching for.

I went to senior prom with a friend who wore platform shoes (it was the 70s - fortunately they were in style! Now they'd be retro-cool.) I wore flats. Between the two choices in footwear, we ended up the same height for the prom pix.

I'm 5'2" and I definately don't fall into the profile of what people are "supposed" to be weight wise. That being said, I usually have people think I'm 30lbs smaller continually than I actually am. I keep in shape, I hike, I exercise, I just happen to be a size 12/14. If you want to take me off your list of prospects because I don't fit your ideal then that is your choice.
I tend to like big guys. My last boyfriend was 5'10" and 220lbs. I loved him the way he was, but he was insecure in his weight. It was one of the factors of our break up, because he thought I would go somewhere else if he didn't loose it. He didn't realize I wasn't going anywhere because I loved all of him. I think if you own your weight and you are happy with who you are it shows. Self confidence is the best turn on in my opinion. As long as you can keep up with me, I could care less what you weigh.

I am generally and highly attracted to guys who workout and are buff but because I am still overweight and working daily on getting in shape, I wasn't really hooking up with the type of guy that intrests me. My current love is very overweight and that doesn't matter cause he is a affectionate, thoughtful, good natured and fun loving person, not to mention that the sex is great and he doesn't judge me or expect me to be something that I am not. He is a wonderful man that I would have missed out on if I was too selective or choosy. People get hung up on outward appearance and it is a travesty because you may be missing the love of your life.

That chart is for super skinnny people. I was 6'4" at 15 and weighed 175lbs, I was nothing but skin and bones, no fat on me at all. Until 23-24 I never passed 180lbs and could eat anything I wanted. Now at 40 I am 230lbs, still slim, but I have extra weight I am working on. I want to level out at around 200-210. I think that would be where I would look the best and not be too skinny.

As for girls, I like tiny girls, like 5' to 5'6, and thin, though not really sure why but that would be the #1 choice for me. Beyond that it's about personality and a connection. I do have an upper limit, if a girl looks like she weighs more than I do it's a deal breaker. But I will also say I hike, bike and am fairly active and would also want someone who could keep up with me, but I have no need for a perfect workout body. I have to also say girls with perfectly sculpted bodies are a little intimidating as well.

I am also 5'10"and weigh 140 lbs-on the low side of the BMI. I am NOT thin nor anorexic but I am slender though I'm also fairly muscular.

I wear a size 8 which is pretty average for my height of woman.

Having been obese, I know how easy it is to decline reality and say things such as that which you have written here.

The fact remains, it is healthier for a person to weigh less than to weigh more. Losing weight I also lost type II diabetes, hypertension, sleep apnea and swollen knees.

Do yourself a favor and address your actual BMI before you refuse to see that overweight kills people. I know this because being overweight killed my husband.

I'm a big girl, always have been. I'm healthy though. I am normally attracted to bigger guys, but that's nature, at least for me. I dated a guy who was downright tiny at one point, and i didn't love him any less.

We are attracted to who we are attracted to. Some people are too woried about what people may think or what they might think of themselves more than what kind of person a match is.

We are all here for the same reason, so be honest. If you are attracted to someone then fine, if not then that is fine also.

120 pounds or 320 pounds, if a guy is a jerk he is still going to be a jerk. I'm going to pass.
