Today, on the way to work I was feeling GREAT -- very optimistic, happy -- no, JOYFUL, even...and most of all, TOTALLY inspired.

While it was WONDERFUL, the puzzling thing was that I could not put my finger on WHY I felt this way.

That made me wonder: what inspires YOU?

Is "inspiration" something you can bring on by engaging in certain activities, talking to a specific person, listening to a piece of music...?

Tell us! Maybe we'll get inspired by learning what inspires YOU.

Nature. Sunlight peeking through tree leaves, sunlight dappled paths in the woods, the smell of pines at the top of a mountain, looking out on a beautiful valley. A tiny lone buttercup peeking through a crack in the sidewalk. Any butterfly. The complete and utter silence left in the wake of a big snowstorm. Wildflowers in big open natural fields that I can wander through and just appreciate. The work ethics of ants. The way waves come up the shore and eliminate your footsteps, and therefore any evidence that you had ever been on that beach.

Really, there is nothing so inspiring as nature to me.

  • Good sleep and a job that I love.
  • Creative ideas flowing
  • And yes -- genuine kindness is a good one.
  • Hilarious stories (especially ones that are true).

Did you ever figure out *what* inspired you, Lori?

Seeing coworkers or classmates who are really interested or enthusiastic about a task or project that has been assigned to them always inspires me to work harder.

Well, not to be ingratiating ... but when I get oh just a tad tired of VCL'ing and attacks and this and that, Lori, *you* inspire me. I admire how you maintain your generous attitude towards these boards over the long haul and you make me relax. I've had a lot of fun here today!

Also nature. And kindness. And music/art. Seeing people in love.
