So given the number of posts I see where guys are asking tips on how to approach women for their phone number ... here's a study that looked at the effects of background music on women's response to such requests. Turns out that romantic music ups your odds of success.

So maybe those no responses had nothing to do with you. Maybe it was the song she heard the last place she was at.

Love ballad leaves women more open to a date

The love song in the waiting room almost doubled Antoine's chances of getting a woman's number -- 52% of participants responded to his advances under the influence of Francis Cabrel, whereas only 28% of those who had heard the 'neutral' song by Vincent Delerm offered their details.
This tidbit was also kind of interesting

Guéguen and Jacob were part of a research team that had already shown how romantic music played in a flower shop led to male customers spending more money.

Music definitely has an influence over me LOL! My husband is WELL aware of this and has been known to use it to his advantage!

I recall being seduced into a relationship a while back simply due to the guy being able to play "Diamonds and Pearls" on bass - harmonics and all. The guy was NOT my type and yet, the fact that he could throw down a fat bass line was all it took...I sure was weak! Wow, just writing that made me feel weak and pathetic - but for ugly guys everywhere, there is alas, hope LOL!
