I wish I could find that one thread where a female poster wanted to be tall, so she wears four-five inches heels...but then she said now she's taller than average men and in shortage (pun) finding tall men.

Wouldn't it be easier if she just uhmm...........(wait for this.................)

Switch to two inches heels?

Dear Budha, Batman, Universe, Aladdin and the three wise men....please listen to my prayers and give me answers!

Graham, it is not okay to do any of those things either.
I know, but, when it happens everyone finds it ammusing, when the opposite is commented on, dead silence and the person saying it is considered offensive.
both wrong, one is socialy accepted.

even this morning, as a customer at a supermarket, a staff member commented, "its windy today, dont get blown over" to the laugher of the ladies.

I'm not bitter, just saying,...
I think it has to do with the portrayal of skinny = good, youthfull = good etc, by the media, making it fair game to comment on or it even being an underhanded compliment.
oh, BTW, I'm not even super skinny.

i don't think it's perfectly fine to make fun or comment on the way anyone looks. fat, skinny, short, tall, etc.

BUT

I also wouldn't listen to those ignorant people that do. they have no affect on how i feel about myself, so to me, they don't exist.

sticks and stones and all that.

Graham, if it was a female saying it to you, I think they were trying to flirt with you, fifth-grader style, and that's why the ladies laughed. It wasn't nice of them to laugh. Some of us ladies like to pretend we're 100% politically correct, and wouldn't dream of hurting anyone's feelings, but none of us are, it's just fronting. Not speaking for all members of my gender, just possibly the more honest ones.

heh, it was a man.
I have no problems with commnents about being skinny, ands its pretty easy target for Women whos flirting includes teasing(which I enjoy).

guess I made my example too personal! not trying to hyjack the thread, moving on,...
