8 Reasons to Enjoy Your Single Status (For Now) - MSN Relationships - article

Although it's geared toward women I think it's equally applicable to men.

What do you think? Do you agree with these reasons to enjoy singlehood?

Do you have any reasons of your own to share?

1. No one else's drool on my pillow but mine.
2. I can read books anytime without offending anyone's sensibilities.
3. The house gets cleaned *my* way, to my own quirky and highly individual standards.
4. Arguing with myself is a *whole* lot funnier and more enjoyable than arguing with someone else.
5. I never worry about my own opinion of, or how much I like myself.
6. Midnight errands and two a.m. pit stops at all night diners...
7. I can crank up the blues/big band music and sing and dance when I feel the need for some T-Bone Walker, or Ella Fitzgerald...
8. I don't wake anyone else up when I toss and turn at night...

Of course, having someone to share these things with, without judgements, who is close enough to touch but free enough to live her own life, with all those wonderful qualities I am looking for...

Well. That'd be awful nice, too. *grin*

I wish I could still get away with this! Alas, my metabolism is slowing.

Let's think about this.
1. I do have a diet I follow and I do like to eat when I want to. It might drive a partner crazy

2. Agree with that. If I'm running an errand, I know what I want and unless I've planned for it. I'm in and out. The midnight errands and the 0200 meals at the all night dinner are a thing of the past.

3. Sure I get to know myself but that can get boring after a while.

4. I've been a good uncle, still am, to my nephew and niece. Then there are the various dogs and cats my sister has owned over the years. The current one loves me and gets so excited when it sees me
it pees on the floor. At least my niece and nephew are house broken.

5. I agree with that. But my hobbies, fly fishing/tying and skeet and target shooting are expensive.

6. I don't know about that. I can get just as comfortable and decide not to go out because I don't feel like getting dressed or being sociable.

7. That is true. I've been spending a week in at a lodge in Canada for the last 20 years. I don't think I'll be giving that up if I end up in a relationship. Or if I feel like going out fishing or shooting on my own or when a friend calls and says let's go.

8. I don't know about that. I get tired of being "alone" and really don't look forward to being "alone" for what remains of my life. Just have to find someone who is flexible.
