Yes, I did find it interesting. I do think it likely that a lot of our behavior is strongly influenced by our biology (such as hormonal factors). This can relate to both differences between individuals and differences between the sexes.

The book the male brain also confirms this. That's why I have changed my age setting to a little higher. As men age the testosterone drops and it doesnt fight with the oxiwhatchmacallit.

Ah testosterone !

Implicated in male pattern baldness, an increased risk of premature death by heart disease and millions of bar-fights.

There should be a Surgeon-Generals warning.

What I also find interesting is that it doesn't seem to have the same cascade of effects in women that it does in men. I read a research paper a while back showing an almost opposite effect on women — it made them more cooperative.

You quite like psychology, I notice. Is it a personal interest, or does it relate to your professional life as well ?

I am interested in everything ... but have sorta doubted the details of how a 4 million year old shark attacked its prey once upon a long time ago or the shocking recipe for killer electrons would be that interesting to anyone else.

I don't know anything about that particular study....but I think there's a good chance that the effect of hormones on 'cooperativeness' could be quite different depending upon whether the person is interacting with someone of their own....or the opposite....gender. I wouldn't be surprised if it's easier to cause male-female cooperativeness than male-male or female-female.
