It's nice not having to answer to anybody, sure. You can do whatever you want, when you want, with whom you desire. That's great and all, but it gets old. especially when you can do things but have no one to share the experience with at the end of the day.

It's better to be in NO relationship than a bad one. I love being single, but others feel lonely, etc. and they might benefit from these articles. Sometimes we need to be reminded of the obvious....

I'm in the middle ground about being single... there are good days where you walk around your apartment in nothing but your birthday suit listening to that one song that only you like over and over singing along into the spoon you just licked peanut-butter straight out the jar drizzled with chocolate syrup off. And then there are the bad days where yet another friend sends you their wedding photos and gushes about hope happy they are with whats-his-name and suddenly you realize you're the last one single in your social set.

Personally find this article a little patronizing.

Hey, you! Genius who allowed this article to post

If we should embrace singlehood, then why are we on this site.

Well, you should embrace singlehood until you find that special someone - then you embrace them!

Why am I uninspired to comment on this article? I think many of us embrace our singlehood in our own unique ways - as we continue to look for a mate.

All of the enumerated items (except #1 and #4) could apply to married as well as single people.

I think the title of the article is good, but the article itself is boring andbland.

I can't speak for everyone, but I try to make the most of my time. When I'm onthe Advice site, I have other applicaions open on my computer. I'll be balancing my checkbook, using a database or spreadsheet, using a foreign language software, searching the internet formaterial that can help me get ahead in theworkplace, watching TV, eating, etc.

I know good parents whose lives revolve around their kids. They get up earlyfor familybreakfast, make sure the kids are off to school, then drive to work. After work they chauffer their kids to after school activities. Not to mention raising kids take a financial toll on them. The parents have little time to themselves for pursuing personal goals. Yet, they wouldn't have it any other way.

When marriage and kids enter the picture, I know if I really want to make it work, I'mnot going to have a lot of free time to myself. That's why I'm making the most of it now. And that's why I agree with SodaPirate in that this articleseems to belittle patronizing.
