I have seen some research articles in Science Daily wire feeds recently suggesting that childhood nurturing leads to three different styles of romantic attachment, sort of a fast, medium and slow version of interest. Slow results from very healthy mother-child nurturing and fast from neglectful or unhealthy mother-child relationships.

Somewhere else I read an article that meditating can help rework that childhood attachment in the brain, so perhaps all is not lost if you find your attachment style has been too fast in the past.

At any rate, I don't really like this blog article's title but if you can get around that, it does talk about how nurture might be encoding nature in the DNA.
