I mean there seem to be a couple of Facebook types. There is the "my life is the greatest in the world" type, the "my marriage, relationship is the greatest in the world," type, "the I'm wisest and most observant person in the world," type. I find all these people taking themselves too seriously. Is anyone else annoyed by this? Can you identify other types?
No, I seem to have tapped into the 'I'm off my face ... whoo hoo!' types. Sometimes I can't read what they have written, because they were literally plastered at the time they accessed FB.

Or, the 'my relationship/marriage is officially over'. I hate reading those updates.

And, my friends, when their young children log in as the parent and then start up a chat session with me. I haven't met these kids and I find it very uncomfortable. I ended up avoiding FB for quite a while and then I relocated to EHA.

As a person who has been involved with Social Networking Sites for over 12 years I'm finding that Facebook is a lot of people's first introduction to Social Networking.

What you have in Facebook is a platform from which people can reach a captive audience. Its amusing seeing the behavior happening to what would be consider ordinary people who at one time saw the internet as the domain for Geeks, Basement Dwelling Introverts and Sexual Predators.

Dating online was considered incredibly taboo and extraordinarily dangerous if not some desperate attempt at love/attention. So yes, seeing people behave oddly on Facebook is on par with newbies who are just getting into Social Networking.
