If today, why?

If the past, when? And why?
Well i'm pretty sure i know why you are asking the question. is it because of his statement that we should discard feminism blah blah?

if thats the reason, i interpreted those statements being made to make a point. i dont think that he would condone any of the positive elements of the feminist movement, for example, being discarded. i think he was simply trying to show that women and men are *most* happy doing specific things that have historically been the roles that men and women have assumed. in fact, at the bottom of the article he links to some study that was done that he felt supported his view.

no one likes feeling controlled, oppressed, or being called incapable so i can tell you for sure that i would never want to go back to a time where those things were prevalent. i personally dont view traditional roles as oppressive. what i find creepy are the attempts to obliterate the distinctions between men and women.

Do you think you (women) should have equitable employment opportunity?

kidding

i think i know where you are going with that also.

and i dont think we have completely equal employment opportunity for anyone. i think that people will employ and pay according to certain biases that they have (or not). or as the law compels them to employ people. but anyone can still discriminate to a degree no matter what the law requires them to do. thats not an issue that exists only between men and women.

This is a very interesting column about happiness, man versus woman.

How to Be Happy | Psychology Today

The article suggests that what makes the two genders happy isn't based on political correctness, but where they are coming from biologically. Men evolved as a hunter in the hunter gatherer society and so are more similar to males of other species than women. And vice versa.

I thought it was kind of interesting. Seemed somewhat true to me.

Although, promotions and more money do make me kind of happy ... and if my corner office someday has a window ... I surely won't complain.

Gender biased bi-polar article. Shoot I can't find anything funny to write about this! I disagree as i have taken the path not followed by the masses.
To call men "gorrillas" or to say we are like them
while women are like human females is gender biased. Let me think of something funny to write.

Ok so maybe I like to sit in puddles eating bananas. Do you have to call me a gorilla? Ok so maybe I have a little hair on my back, snarl some and ocassionally throw my feces, why call me a gorilla?

Why not call me a sloth, anteater, racoon or my favorite-Chipmunk? No, no I can't accept this. Call me a Red Hawk or Wolf. Call me a bear but gorilla? Nope.

And besides I hate office politics. Give me a job in the outback or let me stay home with my child. As long as i have $ taking care of my daughter is job # 1. And it's, that's right ladies, f u n!

Well except for the first few times I changed her diaper? What, was that nuclear reactor fuel she was dumping? Nah says me I'd rather be Ralph Waldo Emersen or Daniel Boone than a corporate
Michael Douglas.

Snow makes me happy and so does the Sun. Smelling my girlfriends hair or touching her hands makes me happy. Being free makes me happy. Smelling the flowers, hiking and petting an animal makes me happy.

"Similarly, it is very unlikely that quitting their jobs, dropping out of the rat race, and becoming stay-at-home dads to spend all their times with their children will make men happy"

My question stands: Do you think women should have equitable employment opportunity?

If you want to stand on biological gender differences, then what do you envision the consequences to be?

Absolutely!

The happiest day in my life was in Truckee and Lake Tahoe with the love of my life, walking in the hot sun hand in hand, and talking and laughing and hanging out in a couple of bars and a dog sang the blues in one of them. Happy, happy, happy.

Same day, same level of happiness, different genders, what does that tell ya?
