Do you blithely ride the ups and downs of life with a smile upon your face, or are you subject to mood swings depending on what's going on at any given time?

How do you think your degree of moodiness affects your dating life?

Have you had to deal with a moody partner in the past? To what extent did that characteristic impact your relationship?

I can't believe that no one has responded to this.

Sometimes I am moody.

When I feel like the whole world is crashing in on my head, I get moody.

When I feel like someone is playing the same old game with me, just on a different day, then I'm likely to get moody.

When someone threatens me or my family, I tend to get moody.

I'm WAY moody when I have PMS! Only lasts a day or two, but I tend to get really weepy, and then I'm fine. I don't get nasty and mean, though.

Day to day life doesn't make me moody, though. If I have a bad day, oh well, I had a bad day. If someone does or says something I don't like, most of the time it doesn't bother me at all. I might call them on it, but I don't get moody over it. If things get tough financially, well, been there, done that, and I know things will be fine. As I've grown older, I find that I just don't get as upset about some things as I used to. Life is too short for that.

As for my dating life and how it's affected, well, I'm not dating right now, but in the past there has never been a problem. I tend to be a pretty patient person; I have to be with my chosen profession.

I have had to deal with a moody partner in the past--after awhile I just found myself frustrated with the whole thing, because I never knew if it was going to be a good night or a bad night. It got to be too much and we went our separate ways.

Yes I can be moody. I need to be careful of low blood sugar levels, not skipping meals, healthy sleep routine, not isolating, exercise 6 days a week and being more optimistic.

I used to play Madden Football. The football SuperStar players all have a high level of awareness. In the real world I call that high emotional iq.

If I'm a 3 on a scale of 1-10 of emotional iq, then my immediate goal is to be a 6-that's average.

From there I will one day be an 8 or 9. It's a lifelong battle to stay motivated. When you see how you hurt others, you get motivated to be more gentle.

I rarely yell, listen more, think of why am I moody? and be more proactive about getting myself out of a black hole.

Dating life-Typically daily I'm playful, affectionate and women who know me offline are attracted to me even if just for friendship. I in turn value their advice, wisdom and jokes shared together. Most of my recent dating was agreed upon short term. As long as I am progressing I know that I'll make a good partner for a serious commitment.

Moody partner-yes and it cut very deep into my heart. I won't date a moody woman who is also mean and sarcastic. Too many pieces of my heart are missing.

of course! I've been diagnosed with depression ... I get some down in hurts; ca't bear to be with anyone. retrea to my room. I'm fortunate that my adolescent sons generally know how to deal with me at such times. I crawl out of my blurrh. While I caution dates about being ill, I wondered what they'll feel should they eve see it for themselves

I don't know anyone who isn't.

Some people snap out of it quicker, have better self awareness, are better at hiding it or allow it to surface in different ways but we're all prey to a mood swing from time to time, in my experience.

I used to be bi-polar in my 20s. That must have been god awful for everyone around me. I try much harder these days.

I have my moments. I might lose that smile for an hour or few, but I usually get my laugh back within the same day. The ability to recover my laugh quickly has been my saving grace.....

My worst quality is impatience. The good thing about impatience is that I wouldn't be with a moody person. I just couldn't do it.

You can see right there (about impatience) I'm always looking for the good side. Even when it comes to my very worst quality.

Confident but very feminine as well. That put a smile on my face. *grin*

I get moody like most people do. I get horribly depressed, irrationally angry, and terribly nervous- but it passes. Like roguewolf, I tend to get self-analytical when I get like that, and pretty soon, I'm out of the woods and back in the sunshine.

I try to stay happy- not psychotic cheerleader happy, but contented and adventurously curious happy. There's too much stuff to learn, too many things to enjoy, and too many books to read for me to stay down... *grin*

Well, as moody is described as 'exhibiting sharply varying moods; temperamental' and 'given to gloomy, depressed, or sullen moods; ill-humoured' - no, I'm not a moody person.

I grew up with a moody sibling, no thank you to having a moody partner! I'm not sure if it because of my sibling, but I find it very easy to recognise moodiness in other people. I have a couple of staff members who are moody and I dread interaction with them.

I get moody when encountering poorly designed things, be it an object or a computer program which exhibits design so profoundly bad only a genius could think up something so stupid. Or occasionally with methods, procedures, or some bit of reasoning which is likewise unintuitive and poorly contrived.
I try to limit the expression of my frustration to a few muttered pejoratives or expletives but that continues to be a work in progress.
