Currently, in my menagerie, along with three kiddos - we have a dog, cat and 4 lizards. Hank, the dog, is a 90lb great dane mix (only he thinks he's a chihuahua) and is much like Marmaduke.
Cosmo (cat) is a stray we received from our friends' daughter who could longer keep him in her college dorm room. The lizards, two chinese water dragons, a bearded dragon and a frilled dragon are here to make me realize how big my little house is. Ever try to find an 8 inch lizard amidst all the clutter of a 14 year old boy?

We had a cat named, Kosch-Ka (now deceased) that was a tuxedo cat like Brneyedangel's. She would do the same thing when we were getting ready for a trip. When we came home, she'd follow us around for about an hour, complaining. She would also jump into my oldest son's crib, when he was a baby, if he was crying to see what was wrong.

My dog's expressions are priceless. Especially that 'I'm-innocent-it-must-have-been-the-cat' look ~ right after he's eaten the pork roast that was our dinner.

My pet fish gets way too much attention, if Finn could talk, he would tell you I’m a keeper!. (Of course his memory is only six seconds long, but still, he’ll vouch for me.)

I grew up with boxers, then got a cocker spaniel as an adult. My kids desperately want a dog, but we live in a 3rd floor walk-up apartment & I have to travel for work so we don't have one now.

LOL! I'm allergic to cats and birds. I do have one puppy, though.

If you feel like you must have a particular breed, check out breed-specific rescue organizations first.
http://www.pomeranianrescuegroup.org/

and if that doesn't work buy directly from a reputable breeder. AKC here, don't know the canadian equivelent.

pet stores = puppy mills

I was going to ask if that's the same cat I was scared of.....when you described her in some other Thread quite a while back.

I can't remember what you said, but I remember she was kind of freaky?
