Is your avatar your own photo? If it is, you have definitely captured a feeling there...

I would be a painter and my paintings would sell like hot cake. Then I'd buy myself a ranch with lots of horses and I'd go riding all day long.

This may sound odd to most but...

My dream job (no joke) is to be a funeral director/embalmer.

People i know are somewhat shocked by this....can't really see why.

Gosh I have so many, this has been a problem all my life...some are more attainable than others.

Ive always wanted to be a superhero of sorts....help inner city kids (my idea was to buy a large amount of land somewhere, and have a camp/school of sorts make money off of team building things with professional types, and let the kids from the inner city's come for free if thier schools or whatever couldn't afford it.... I had some dream that somehow the outdoors would show the magnitude of life and what is out there...beyond the little problems in their social lives, or the culture of their little piece of the city or whatever). I see other people doing this now and I'm jealous in a way, but it is still sort of a far off type of goal, that would proably evovle from my 19 yr. old buisness model and philosphy...lol

I'm also really interested in detective and intelligence work and find it SO hard to break into if you don't have previous military or police work experience, and you have to dedicate yourself to that route. I do get to participate in some of these types of activities...but what I'd really like is to be someone that investigates or uncovers things like human sex trafficking, or be in a position to somehow help women in other countries (including our own). That is not always related to intelligence or detective work but I will throw it in with that bowl! lol

I'd also like to be a professor, a travel writer for national geographic, and a bit more attainably....a librarian.

Overall, what I do encompasses a lot of what I love and provides some variety depending on where I work or what project I am on, so I am probably in the right career field right now....and I definitley make more money which is neccessary now (that if I were ...say... a kayaking teacher). I only hope that soon it pays off enough that I can start to focus more on something else that might not be as financially rewarding, but more personally rewarding....

It would also be cool to be a librarian at a college or teacher, so I could use those summers to do somre more voluntary and travel related things...this might be the most likely path I choose after career #1!

I'd be royalty and own my on country. I'd make al the rules and get to say who lives there. I'd abolish taxes and have a two day work week. The national symbol would be a bar of chocolate. And I would have a harem of men at my beck and call 24 hrs/day.

Well I'd like to throw the idea out there that why aren't more of you guys actually following your dream or making your dream or at least something close it work???? (except Creole girl, there's no hope for you LOL LOL but I love the idea!)

I've wanted to be a college professor, a writer, and an anthropologist for as long as I can remember, and I am 49 years old and making it happen!!! I had two years of college under my belt, but dropped out at age 20 get married and have babies.

Two years ago I quit my job, got a massive amount of financial aid, and went back to college. One year at community college to finish all my prereqs and get a two-year degree. This last year at a university to finish my BA. Now starting graduate school. It will take 2 years to get my masters, 5 - 7 years to get my PhD.

I'm working 3 part time jobs; I work at the writing center at my college, I am a graduate research assistant, and I teach piano lessons in my home. I also get a lot of free financial aid, scholarships, and some loans.

I've downsized radically and live in a cheap (though elegant IMHO) basement apartment. I drive a totally crappy car, and I never buy anything. Really.

But I'm living my dream. I LOVE sitting in the classroom discussing philosophy and history and anthropology and art. I LOVE that I get to write all the time! (I now have my own column in the school newspaper!) I LOVE that I get to present lectures and workshops in classes!!

So WHAT if I'm in my mid 50's when I finish???? I'll get to spend the last quarter/third of my life doing what I want to do.

So let me throw the challenge out there to y'all.... Don't give up on those dreams!!!

Julia Child was over 50 before her cookbook was published and she became famous! (Just saw the movie). Grandma Moses was 76 when she took up painting!! Colonel Sanders began his franchise when he was in his 60's!! And for all you writers... Laura Ingalls Wilder started her journalism career in her 40's and didn't write her Little House series until her 60's!

So follow your dreams!!! :-)

I've been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate, a poet, a pawn and a king
I've been up and down and over and out and I know one thing
Each time I find myself, flat on my face
I pick myself up and get back in the race

That's life (that's life), I tell you I can't deny it
I thought of quitting, baby, but my heart just ain't gonna buy it
And if I didn't think it was worth one single try
I'd jump right on a big bird and then I'd fly

God, I love Sinatra!
