I have a side rant about names. What gets to me is when guys have names that may not be very popular today but are still easy to spell and they tell me that others have trouble spelling it. If you want difficulty with spelling a name you should try mine. I have Finnish first name and a Scottish last name (which itself has a different spelling than one would normally think). I love my first name and it annoys me when people try to be funny by purposely mispronouncing it.

Having said my rant, I wouldn't want to see my exes names (except for one because it's also my brother's name).

I usually don't have a problem with given names at birth (hey...it's not their fault, right?). Thankfully, I have not met any man that had my ex-hubbie's or any of my exes names...not sure how I would handle that. But at my age I would hope that I would consider the shrinking dating pool at my age...live with it..and devise a pet name for any men whose names I may not want to whisper sweet nothings to... due to the weird connotation...whew!

With that said...we folks at eHarmony are pretty darn lucky. On other sites, the screen names are...well...let me give you some examples:

luvuallnite

mrmojo

bootyboy

eeeeezzzzeeee

2sexy2handle

allniteluvr

...and many more...sheesh!

I have strayed from this site off an on...but when I have strayed I always breathe a sigh of relief when I return to the sanity of Eharmony and the eha boards (talkin' about names that is......)

BTW: I mentioned on another "names" thread that my first and middle name are adrogynous...my sister's ex-husband and her first son have my first name. There is no way I will ever whisper 'sweet-nothings' to myself! (lol)

But if I ever meet a man that I have a strong connection to, that happens to have my first and/or middle name..I will cross that bridge when I get to it I guess...but so far so good!

I read through this thread again ... highly entertaining!

But, I am sitting here, knowing that if I ever get a better half, I could just not bring myself to call him: Cuddles, Snookums, Pookie ...

Bwahahahahaha! No, that would just make me hungry and if he had 'my' Tim Tams, the biggest tickle war in history would be on so I can distract him and steal them back!
