I love MJ. With the events that went on in his life its very sad to see such a talent end the way his did...he was a real family man,not just an icon..and he cared. Now, Im not obsessed that he is gone,we all have to go sometime or another, but it was just sad to see his demise, with his rise and fall to being the "King," of pop,and his abusive childhood. I grew up to his music with me being an 80's baby. I had a little girl crush on him when I was little...

The way ANYONE mourns...should anyone stand in judgment? I will say I'm surprised by my own emotions watching MJ's memorial tribute. Setting aside any judgments about his sad self-mutilation and all that must have gone on for him to do that, and setting aside what conclusions I may have come to re the allegations once thrown at him (no one but the people involved know the truth, so none of us really know for sure, correct??) I now will remember him as a sweet man who was incredibly talented and influential, kind and giving with regard to charities, soft-spoken and obviously by looking at that beautiful daughter speaking so eloquently in grief, a devoted and good father. I worry now that he was quite possibly put thru way too much for a person who may have been truly a decent man with a good heart. In all his song lyrics and everything that came out of his mouth always...the running theme was about everyone just loving each other. Such a sweet and basic concept, yet so difficult, huh? As his brother said, and I forget the exact words...something like 'how much pain can one person take in a lifetime. Perhaps now Michael, they will leave you alone..." This world may just not have been good enough for a pure heart and I wonder if that's exactly what he was. I know he is in a better place where people are not judged for how they express or choose not to express their grief...

I very much agree, and the more I read about it of late, the sadder it seems. I hadn't bought any of his albums since the 80's and hadn't given him much thought until recently, but it seems that it must have been very, very difficult to have been he.

The Man in The Mirror is one of my personal favorites.
But I love a lot of his songs, I grew up with his music in the background, so it still triggers a lot of sad and happy memories.

When I listen to his songs, I think he was a beautiful man, in his own way, but largely misunderstood even by people closest to him, let alone the general public. I choose to believe the best in people until I'm proven wrong.

As for the rest of the media created public display that was his life, anyone could lose it. And I also choose to believe in "innocent until proven guilty". The court of media infused public opinion does not wash with me.

I can only say Thank You for the joy his talent has delivered to many of us over the years, and may he rest in peace.
