Welcome, billy; and I am sorry to hear of your double loss.

OK, here are mine:
1.) I make a mean key lime pie.

2.) I once had to engage in self-mutilation (excessive tongue and lip chewing) to keep from laughing aloud at a funeral. It would have been rather noticeable, since I was the pastor officiating at the funeral at the time. ( I was giggling because there was a quartet singing. In 4 different keys. All of them wrong. They were all over 80 and wheezy, too).

3.) I had to memorize the names of all 50 states in alphabetical order for a bicentennial pageant when I was 14, and I can still rattle them off in just under 20 seconds (such a resume` enhancer, I know....).

4.) My fiance does needlepoint and cross stitches. And he collects guns, so I wouldn't recommend teasing him about the needlepoint and cross stitching .

5.) I had someone ask me once if I had a bathing suit with a clerical collar. They were serious!

Oh what the heck, I'll make it 6.) My 18 year old daughter has spent most of the week digging in the dirt for trash. She's really excited about it, too; as I am for her. She's interning at an archaeological dig in southeastern Virginia, and has been digging in the Fairfield estate's old "midden" (i.e., trash heap). So far, they have found broken wine bottles, broken bricks, old hand-forged nails, bits of porcelain, the femur from an animal larger than a rodent (not yet confirmed, but most likely the leg of lamb from a long-ago dinner), a bent piece of a harness, and lots of oyster shells. She is very excited about it all!

OMG! Your funeral story reminded me of my grandfather's funeral. I loved my grandfather dearly (my sisters and I were even raised with them for 9 years). I was in my early twenties and we were seated in some seats at his funeral. Well, this women walks in wearing this hideous bright green polyester suit (this was in the early 80s), the skirt was a pleated skirt. This woman was almost as round as she was tall and had an enormous backside. Well, because of her rear and her shape I guess, her skirt was at least 4 or 5 inches shorter in the back than in the front and when she walked down the rows to sit down, the way the pleated skirt moved, it was the most comical thing we had ever seen.

My sisters and I were just snickering away and trying so hard to be quiet and respectful!

Yes, I was sad and I loved my grandfather and my other relatives that were there, but we couldn't help it!

1. I can make a kick-ass batch of brownies with chocolate chips and cinnamon in them (also known as my magic brownies cause they disappear in not time flat)

2. I can plan a major event in less than 2 days (you would be surprised what events I got assigned to plan in my government job) and swear I need to open up a side business and be an event planner.

3. I have a knack for talking my way out of speeding tickets -- just sit and smile, say yes sir, and feign ignorance on how fast I was really speeding...hahaha.. Flirting with the officers also helps too =)

4. I love sports and not only grew up playing them in high school and college, but you will still find me throwing the ball around outside or hitting the batting cages.

5. Love watching Jeopardy and actually tried out for the show back in 2003, but unfortunately didn't make the final cut

1. I have a reputation as a good cook and an even better baker. My most requested baked good is my banana nut bread.

2. I love to go whitewater rafting. It is probably one of my most favorite activities even though I only get to do it at the most once or twice a year.

3. I was in a car wreck with my 8 week old puppy (first car ride for her and first time away from her mom.) We ended up breaking the same bone in each of our left legs (her rear one.) Since she was a growing pup her cast had to be changed weekly. One week we ended up with matching (red) casts which makes an interesting photo. It took a while for her to adjust to car rides but after a few years she even liked to take a ride.

4. I love the feeling you get on a roller coaster as you get to the top of the incline and then plummet down hill. I also love the feeling you get in your stomach when a plane takes off.

5. My favorite month of the year is October.

1. My two best friends in high school and I were known for doing the "Oscar Mayer Weiner Dance." I have a collection of Oscar Mayer Weinermobiles (including a 3-foot stuffed one), but have never actually seen the actual Weinermobile up close and in person. A life long dream is a ride in it!

2. I grew up in a cat house. And my mom used to do a striptease at parties. Surprisingly, these two facts are not directly related.

3. The first guy I gave my phone number to after becoming fully single turned out to be a homeless guy. I later found out he was a homeless guy who got kicked out of the shelter for fighting! I swear to gawd he looked normal!! My dating life had no where to go but up from there.

4. My house nearly burned down because my rain gutters were overflowing (a long story to make the connection from the gutters to the fire...). I was extremely lucky as I slept through the entire event. Someone from beyond was clearly looking out for me (Thank you, Dad).

5. My teenage kids think I'm awesome (other adults they've told this to have reported it back to me.) And it's not because I try to be their friend... it's because I'm clearly their mom, yet I remember how it was to be a teen.

1. I am in the process of writing a book. It started out as a comedy about abandoning my Alzheimer's afflicted mom at a Starbucks (really it was supposed to be funny because I have been living with this disease for 11 years now), but it has turned into a fragile look at the disease from the caregiver's point of view.

2. I teach 7th graders and they are the most interesting age to observe and interact with.

3. There are 158 flamingoes in my front yard...

4. I have allowed (by court order) my ex husband to keep his wrecked 1967 Camaro in my garage for the past 11 years... each year I sweep around and under it... in another 2 or 3 years I think I will have swept the entire car out of the garage!

5. I love Brussels Sprouts. I eat them like candy straight from the box or bag they came frozen in.

1. I love nature walks and adventures, specially to find historical things, see a snake gotta pick it up. Would always go on adventures with my kids.
2. I can fix just about anything electronic or mechanical. Good quality to have to help people who need the help.
3. I like to fix things electronic and mechanical, reverse engineer and invent, always have a experimental/work bench. Worked as a mechanic and hardware/software engineer so more then qualified, not just a tinker.
4. My son tells his friends that his Dad is like his best friend, yes he still lives with me going through college.
5. A romantic guy and like showing the person I love how much they mean to me. And still like to be old fashion at times, everyone should.

You said 5 and those are the ones that came to the top of my head.

1: Cat person, but raised with dog owners. My grandmother could not stand a cat anywhere near her. I like dogs, but cats are easier to take care of.

2: I won 3rd place in the only poetry contest I've ever been in. I should pursue my talent, but it is a private matter for me. I literally have 10s of thousands of poems scattered all over my house.

3: I love cold showers, cold weather, and blue is obviously my favorite color.

4: I played soccer for 10 years growing up; I wasn't all that good, but it was the best sport in my opinion.

5: I order plain everything: cheeseburgers, salads, no cream filled doughnuts, no steak sauce unless the meat is tasteless. I am the quickest at the fast food counter.

Oddly, I'm the last to get my food - apparently putting 10 things on a burger is the norm...having nothing on them is abnormal lol.
