I have never been a bar kind of person. I feel completely out of place in that kind of environment. I briefly attempted to be more social in that way in my early college years, but it just wasn't me and pretty much fizzled out with my freshman semester.

I don't consider myself an "old soul", but I think it is probably more a result of my personality. I prefer smaller groups to large crowds. I enjoy good conversation and environments which foster that.

I think there are plenty of people that enjoy the same thing. I have met a good number of them.

Yep. I'm with you and OP. I'm not sure "old soul" captures what the OP meant, but I'm significantly younger than OP and have the same experience. The only difference is that at this age, almost everyone is still partying it up, and especially where I'm at now. Alas.

Hmmm, I thought I was just born "old" . . . never did like drinking, smoking (of any kind), bar or party . . .and Ican't remember how I getthis "old" either.

Hoo boy yeah. I feel like mine goes back to Sumeria. I'm 21 but my parents say I was born 40. At 5 years old I was giving professional-sounding descriptions of my lego inventions complete with proposals for future R&D. The technical details were a bit off ("The spaceship has an engine AND a motor!") but leaving that and the tiny high-pitched voice aside, videos of me as a kid watch like post-project statements of work for funding agency review. My best friends are 5-10 years older than me and my career is years ahead of anyone my age. The girls around me in undergrad just couldn't hold my interest. Now I'm in grad school and working as a freelance consultant (aka mad scientist) on the side, but most ladies of the age/maturity level I'd like to date just see the age and write me off. One pretty amazing lady I started corresponding with over the past week excepted.

Very interesting topic!

I have no idea where I'd guess myself to be along the new-->old timeline. Sometimes I think I know /perceive a lot, and other times I think I've lived all these years without learning Jack Schizz.

Comments have been made about my eyes on a number of occsaions, that they 'look right into peoples souls' or something. Maybe I've been watching too many Law & Order's & have developed a wicked case of Cop Eye hahaha.
