I like this line: "But a word of caution -- if you make the first move, don’t make the second, third, and fourth. Guys want and need to be part of the delicate dating chase. If you do all the work, they’ll just stop chasing."

It kinda weirds me out when a girl I've just met through a local sports league comes across as quite (to quote my female teammate, who phrased it perfectly) "enamored" with me.

Wonder if this advice would be different for different ages? It has been my experience that 50+ men are looking for a wife, while women of the same age who have already raised their families may not be looking for a husband. Has anyone studied this age group to see what dating dynamics might be in play?

As a single guy, I'd say about half of this article is correct. The other half is bull.

I agree. I'll show interest and it's rare for me to ask first, but if I do, it's usually because I just want to talk and get a bettersense of the guy. After that, I just let it go and wait for the guy to make the next move. That sense that you're being "stalked" can work both ways and it's a weird feeling for both men and women. I don't like feeling like a vulture is flying overhead all the time and I'm sure guys don't either.

I give it a B+. While a fair assessment on most points, I found it was too light on the issues and I disagree that the "50+ are looking for a wife" assertion. I'm over 50 and not looking for a wife but a well grounded and commited relationship with a mentally healthy woman who seeks same in her man. Marriage is a useless institution to me, but that's for another thread.

Generalities aside and regarding this guy, a much better source of what makes me tick can be found in Page Parker's book: Dating Without Drama.
