I expected to marry only once. After about fifteen years, it became apparent that it would be a long slog of despair, and though I wanted at first to stick it out, we amicably called it quits just before our thirtieth anniversary.
I was prepared to never have another go, but met someone wonderful and will try again. I figure if this one lasts the same amount of time, I'll be 86, so I definitely won't try a third time.
