Title is pretty self-explanatory! I know there are some animal-lovers out there, so share a bit about your pets (photos would be great too!) Feel free to share about pets that are no longer with us. The love we have for them never goes away!
I think it would be interesting to share why you have pets as well. What do you get out of being a pet-owner?
I am a proud owner of a West Highland White Terrier (think Ceasar dog food commercial but not as white - He likes to run through ditches and puddles)
His name is Cajun as he is from outside of New Orleans, going on 7 and extremely popular. When we went to obedience school people were constantly saying that he was the happiest dog they had ever seen.
Cajun had a drinking problem as a pup. Nothing he had to go to AA for, it was just water, A year of Prozac (for him not me) and some behavioral training (measuring his water intake etc) cured him and now he is only a sloppy drinker. It was worth everything we went to cure him of his OCD behavior.
I think I have Cajun for several reasons. Something to care for and look forward to seeing when I get home. Five minutes, five days, five months - it is all the same to a pet, always glad to see you. He (and pretty much any dog) makes me smile for no particular reason. I grew up having a dog and it just seems normal to me and my family to have one.
I am about to go out of town with work but will post a pic later.
So how about you?
