Eyes are a good place to look. *grin* They can say so much about your mood, even if that’s all you see of their face. Crinkly around the edges and slightly squinted? Happy. *grin* Eyes can also tell if you’re lying, bored, sleepy, interested, sad, joyful, and so on… They are an important part of the face, and people carry a lot of sophisticated biological hardware in them for looking at faces…
Eyes can hide things too. Mine are stained-wood brown with a few black flecks. Goes with my dark brown hair. Most people say my eyes look sleepy. If they are being provocative, they say I look like a crack addict. *grin* But past Significant Females have ascribed all sorts of strange words to them. Safe. Careful. Ingenious. Mischievous. Warm. Cool. All depending on who knows what context. *grin*
The eyes of one who I will be attracted to are a mystery to me. Color wise, I have few preferences, save only I find that utterly pale blue disconcerting. Normal blue, nice, very pale blue reminds me of a Classics professor I had- an Albino- who took every opportunity to be nasty because he was old and thought he could get away with it. My last girlfriend had brown eyes like me. *grin* Color is not really so important as context though.
There was a study done some years back- late nineties I think? That showed something interesting about men responding to women. Specifically, men showed a definite drop in long-term planning when confronted with certain female expressions. Men like to keep their women happy. *grin* It makes us feel good. When we see those beautiful eyes light up with joy, it’s like a mini-high. Chemical triggers in our brains click open and all sorts of good stuff for us.
I like to see little laugh lines around the eyes from lots of smiling. I like to see them clear, open, and doing what they do best- feeding information back to the brain. In this way, one could truly consider them windows to that most essential part inside. *grin* We humans are very visual creatures, and seeing our significant other human looking back at us is quite nice (usually! there are exceptions, I know).
Looking forward to see what other I’s out there have to say. *grin*
