You're right, she didn't suggest that anyone should be allowed to starve, she flat-out said it. This soi disant "Christian" told hungry children to get a job or tough luck. Which is weird, because I could have sword Jesus wanted his followers to feed the hungry, not tell them to bugger off and get a job at McDonald's (which does NOT, by the way, give free food to their employees).
As for an "anti-business, socialist, radical environmentalist climate," I have no idea what world you're living in. It certainly isn't the real world. The situation we currently find the US in is because of the enthusiastically PRO-business, anti-community, anti-environment, anti-science, pro-ignorance policies of the last administration. While I can fault the Bush administration for a lot of ignorance, the fact is that the USA's ongoing political culture of pro-business, anti-community, and anti-environment policies has led to persistent poverty and third world conditions in places like Appalachia and rural Alabama and Georgia.
If you're seriously this upset because the government is stepping up to its responsibility to the hungry, if the only thing you get out of this is OMG HOW DARE ANYONE GET FREE STUFF then you have issues far and beyond being single.
Go shake the magic money tree and feel good about yourself, other than that you have no understanding of the situation and are not worth responding to
