My girlfriend was one of the first four matches I received through eHarmony. She also initiated communication with me, and when she did it convinced me to subscribe so that I could communicate with her.





I honestly didn't expect anything to come out of it. I looked at her profile and didn't believe she would want to be with a guy like me. I eventually came to realize that my expectations were dead wrong about this woman. Every time I though I had her figured out, she would surprise me in the most wonderful way.





I don't think our experience is typical. I've read plenty of posts from people on this forum who have spent months, even years, trying to find someone special through eHarmony but to no avail. It certainly makes me feel fortunate to have met someone like her immediately.





Oh, and for the record, she had been a member for a while before being matched with me. She had been a member a couple years earlier but quit and came back to it. I guess it just goes to show that a little perseverance can pay off sometimes.
