It’s safe, it’s intimate and it involves a stimulant that promotes conversation; it’s the coffee date, and the first meeting of choice for eHarmony members from suburb to city. Our advice for coffee shop chic in a nutshell? Dress like you care without getting carried away.

Dark jeans and a stylish sweater or ruffled blouse are standard, but especially if you’re meeting in the evening, dress up your look with closed-toe heels or embellished flats. Accessorize with a bold pendant necklace, dramatic earrings or a woven scarf in a hue that makes your complexion glow.
