This month, Air New Zealand announced the world’s first Matchmaking Flight, which will depart Los Angeles International Airport for Auckland, New Zealand, on October 13, 2009. The airline will fly U.S. singles to the opposite side of the Pacific to help them find potential dates in air or on land in Auckland.

Passengers who sign up for the Matchmaking Flight will be immersed in a full dating experience. Along with a flight full of themed food, drinks, games and entertainment, passengers will enjoy a pre-flight gate party and singles-only party at the SKYCITY Convention Centre once they’ve arrived in Auckland.

As you’re preparing for the flight of a lifetime, here a few tips to keep in mind:
